The School of Computing and Technology, University ofSunderland is delighted to announce its MSc IntelligentSystems programme for Oct. 2006. Building on the School'sleading edge research in intelligent systems this mastersprogramme will be funded partially via the ESF programmeand Women into Science programme.
We are pleased to announce that for eligible EU studentswe can offer stipends with free EU fees and a bursaryof 500 pounds for our MSc Intelligent Systems. Togetherthis stipend is worth about 4200 pounds or 6200 Euro infees and bursary. This scheme applies to our October 2006entry for EU students.
Intelligent Systems is an exciting field of study forscience and industry since the currently existingcomputing systems have often not yet reached the variousaspects of human performance. "Intelligent Systems" is aterm to describe software systems and methods, whichsimulate aspects of intelligent behaviour. The intentionis to learn from nature and human performance in orderto build more powerful computing systems. The aim is tolearn from cognitive science, neuroscience, biology,engineering, and linguistics for building more powerfulcomputational system architectures. In this programme awide variety of novel and exciting techniques will betaught including neural networks, intelligent robotics,machine learning, natural language processing, vision,evolutionary computing, data mining, fuzzy methods, andartificial intelligence architectures.
