Research Fellowship in Computer Vision and Machine Learning
Applications are invited for a three-year research fellowship to investigatemachine learning of visual object categories under weak supervision obtainedfrom the observed eye-movements of people performing a realistic task. Theinvestigation will focus on operators within a CCTV control room, leading tothe implementation and evaluation of a control room augmented with automaticcriticality assessment. The project is funded under the Cognitive SystemsForesight Project of the UK Research Councils, and will involve closecollaboration with Prof Tom Troscianko and Prof Iain Gilchrist in theDepartment of Experimental Psychology at the University of Bristol. You willhave a PhD or equivalent, and primary expertise in either computer vision ormachine learning. The PhD studentship is to work on activity recognition in computer vision,in conjunction with a wider research project that is investigating visualattention in a realistic setting. This is a collaboration between the Schoolof Computing at the University of Leeds and the Department of ExperimentalPsychology at the University Bristol. The successful candidate will join ourComputer Vision group ( http://www.comp.leeds.ac.uk/vision), working with Prof DavidHogg. This studentship is open to citizens of any country.
