PhD Positions for the NWO MinAdept project
Providing Full Life Cycle Support for Adaptive Processes by Advanced
Mining Approaches
The Architecture of Information Systems group of the Computer Science
department of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is looking for
candidates for a PhD position within the NWO project "MinAdept". This
project focuses on the interplay between adaptive process management
(i.e., making information systems process-aware and flexible) and process
mining (i.e., the analysis of event logs recorded by information systems).
This research is motivated by the observation that increased flexibility
triggers the need for better and more intelligent forms of monitoring.
The MinAdept project is supported by NWO and involves different groups at
Eindhoven University of Technology (prof. Wil van der Aalst, dr. Ton
Weijters, prof. Kees van Hee, and dr. Natalia Sidorova) and the University
of Twente (dr. Manfred Reichert and prof.Roel Wieringa). There will be one
PhD position in Eindhoven and one in Twente.
We are looking for candidates that meet the following requirements:
- A MSc in Computer Science;
- Background in formal methods (e.g., Petri nets or process algebra),
workflow management systems, and/or experience in data mining is a plus;
- Well-developed social skills directed to work in a team;
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Offered for each PhD position:
- A full time, temporary appointment for a period of 4 years;
- A gross salary of € 1.933 per month during the first year up to
€ 2.472 during the fourth year of the appointment;
- Attractive secondary labor conditions (among other things excellent
technical infrastructure, saving schemes, and excellent sport facilities);
- A coverage of the costs of publishing your dissertation.
