Academic Level B or C
We are seeking to appoint two or more mathematicians to Level B positions in the Department of Mathematics, within the Mathematical Sciences Institute. For suitably qualified applicants of exceptional research performance the possibility of an initial joint research position in the Centre for Mathematics and its Applications at Level C will be considered.
The successful applicants will have outstanding mathematical research records, in an area(s) compatible with the research programs of the Mathematical Sciences Institute. They will have a demonstrated capacity (relative to opportunity) to build collaborative research links with mathematicians researching in other areas of mathematics and/or with researchers in other disciplines.
The applicants will also have very good teaching and communication skills and be able to contribute actively to the development of mathematics and its linkages with other areas and to the promotion of mathematics within the ANU and the broader community.
Initially, there may be a reduced teaching load.
